Summary/Objective:
The Operations Manager supports efficient and effective business operations by overseeing budget management, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, and optimizing inventory and logistics processes. This role involves implementing and managing technology systems, maintaining vendor relationships, and resolving daily tech issues to minimize operational disruptions. Additionally, the Operations Manager analyzes and enhances operational processes, tracks key performance metrics, and leads special projects aimed at continuous improvement and expanding operational capabilities.

Essential Functions:

  • Manage operational budgets, control costs, and optimize resource allocation to meet financial objectives.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies. Conduct regular safety audits and collaborate with warehouse management on training sessions.
  • Oversee inventory management processes, ensuring accurate tracking and optimal stock levels.
  • Oversee the logistics processes, ensuring efficient coordination with transportation providers, suppliers, and customers to promptly resolve any operational issues.
  • Oversee the implementation and management of technology systems. Ensure technology solutions support business objectives and enhance operational efficiency.
  • Maintain relationships with external IT, ERP software, and other technology service providers, ensuring adherence to service level agreements and seamless integration of technology solutions into operational processes.
  • Address and resolve minor technological issues as they arise, ensuring minimal disruption to daily operations.
  • Partner with warehouse management to align processes and achieve operational goals.
  • Analyze and enhance operational processes to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and ensure seamless workflows.
  • Track and analyze key performance metrics such as delivery times, inventory accuracy, and order fulfillment rates. Implement strategies for continuous improvement.
  • Prepare and present regular reports on operational performance, including key metrics, challenges, and recommendations for improvement.
  • Lead and manage special projects aimed at optimizing distribution processes and expanding operational capabilities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Strong expertise in process management and optimization.
  • Experience with enterprise resource planning (ERP) and other operational software.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with various stakeholders.

Preferred Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field required.
  • Proven experience as an Operations Manager or similar role within distribution or logistics environment.
  • Experience managing relationships with external service providers.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • The Operations Manager oversees teams across logistics, purchasing, warehouse management, and technology, ensuring cohesive alignment with operational goals and integrated processes.  
Physical Requirements
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Adjusting or moving objects up to 15 pounds.
  • Ability to make repetitive movements, including moving of the wrists/and or fingers, bending, or squatting.
Work Environment
  • This position will work indoors in a temperature-controlled environment with periods of time in a moderate-noise level warehouse.

  • None.
The Location:
Kinter is located on the outskirts of Waukegan, just minutes from Gurnee and Wadsworth. Office and warehouses are located off IL Route 41, which makes the commute easy from surrounding towns.
